Hello… My name is Daniel Isles, and I sometimes go by the pen name DirtyRobot. I am a Creator of comics and illustration works, and I’ve been doing so from a very young age. In fact, I made my first comic book when I was only 9yrs old, it was a Robocop remake and… Well… I digress, that’s another story. I’m a Lover of retro video-games, I also love Kung fu movies and many genres of music especially electronic type stuff like drum & bass as well as Jazz. I’ve created illustrations and designed for various companies and individuals as a freelancer. Working with companies such as: Yamaha Music Group, Jamla Records, EATGOOD, Capcom UK, Hokkaido Nipponham Fighters, Breaking Convention, Rodney P (RK Promo), Soweto Kinch, Myke Forte and many more. I have also had the chance to exhibit work in Japan alongside manga legend and artist Yumiko Igarashi, co-creator of the famous Candy Candy series.

Currently I’m living and working outside of my comfort zone in the most coldest part of Japan. It could only be love that would make a man do something so silly like, live in the cold with Jack Frost.

I’m Inspired by many things, human behaviour and life being the top of the pile, but generally my main influences that have been my guide over the years vary from artists and designers such as: Yoshitaka Amano (Fantasy/comic Artist), Mœbius, Otomo Katsuhiro, Kenya Hara, my best friend Myke Forte and of course the list goes on. I am also hugely influenced by animation, especially the traditional 2D works of yesteryear. Titles such as: Hokuto No Ken, Transformers, Akira, Laputa, Guyver, Cyber City, Space Ghost, The oldskool version of Thundercats, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Silverhawks and also some Disney joints… I really could go on forever here. I have so much love for these creations because they had such a huge effect on me growing up. These animations played a major part in my growth as an artist and influenced my style to what you see today. Movies also helped to shape my visual language. These range from Hollywood blockbusters to oldskool kung fu’s to world cinema and cult classics, movies such as: Star Wars and Blade Runner, TRON, The Five Deadly Venoms, Magnificent Butcher, The Victim, Oldboy and many, many more.

I really hope that you all enjoy looking at my collected works and comics. Please enjoy and thank you for joining me on this journey as an artist.
